#GreaterArmidale May grant recipients announced

Camp Quality Armidale will provide more children with cancer access to resilience building camps after being named the winner of Greater Bank’s May #GreaterArmidale community funding program.

The charity group received $3000 after being named the winner as voted by the community. Runners-up, Guyra Pony Club and Starfish Industries each received $1000 to support their services.

Greater Bank’s Armidale branch manager, Wendy Ng, presented the winning organisations with their cheques on Friday.

“Camp Quality Armidale provides a wonderful service supporting sick children and their families, and through this funding more children will now have access to the resilience building camps, providing essential time out from hospital treatment,” Ms Ng said.

The #GreaterArmidale community funding program has now provided $45,000 to local charity groups and will continue to provide $5,000 per month to other worthy groups, as voted by the general public.

Members of the Armidale community are encourage to vote each month by going online at, or by dropping into the Greater Bank’s Armidale branch.

Voting for the June grant is now open with New England Burns Club, RSPCS Armidale and Walkley Golf vying for the cash grants. Voting closes at 5:00pm, Wednesday June 28, 2017.

Ms Ng also said that Greater Bank is calling for nominations for other community groups to be considered for upcoming funding rounds.

“There are so many organisations doing wonderful work in our community that we know will benefit greatly from this financial support. We want to know about them,” Ms Ng added.

“Greater Bank wants to help these organisations continue their great work to make our community greater for local people.”

Each month, Greater Bank will select three organisation that the community will vote on to receive the grant.
